After a 4-year hiatus, ElectricUTOPIA band Lake South return with their best yet, the soaring epic 'We lived our lives on top of this'.
Their fourth album was written in the pockets of free time in the 3 years since the birth of Lake's first child. Immense joy, white nights, the mourning of a life lived lonely, and the delicate embrace of a love without limit.
LAKE SOUTH
Lake South takes the best of the Aotearoa New Zealand songwriting tradition and infuses it with raw emotion and electronics. Defiant, DIY, indie anthems for people who give a damn.
These are the kind of songs that make you want to run down an empty street at dusk, screaming your heart out for a better future. As the band makes their way across the motu, prepare for a live show that hits deep.
The band has released 3 critically acclaimed albums, with Graham Reid calling Lake an 'electro-folk postcard poet of his doubting generation'.
The current line-up features Theo Sekeris (Ras Judah, Rubita) on bass, Eddie Crawshaw (Sheep Dog & Wolf, Bonaparte) on drums, and Penelope Esplin (French for Rabbits, Eigenface) on harmonies and synths.
